Immich · like Google PhotosImmich quietly backs up your phone's photos and videos and lays them out in a tidy gallery — searchable by people, places and things. Like Google Photos, but yours.
The app uploads every new photo and video to the server in the background. On the web and in the app you then get one smooth timeline; you build albums by dragging, and you can search for things like “beach” or a specific person — Immich sorts photos by faces and places on its own. You share with a link you can revoke anytime.
Step by step

Install the Immich app (App Store, Google Play or F-Droid).

On first launch, enter the Server Endpoint URL — see Server above.

Sign in via “Login with Authentik” with your account username and password.

In settings turn on Backup → pick albums and enable background backup too.
Tips & troubleshooting
- Run backups over Wi-Fi so you don't burn mobile data.
- The app never deletes phone photos — it only uploads them. Free up space manually afterwards.
- iOS: give the app access to all photos so the backup covers your whole library.
